Manipur North Economic Development Association (MANEDA) is a registered non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Senapati District, Manipur. Founded in 1991 by Mr. T. Peter Rangnamei, MANEDA envisions a society free from poverty, where every individual can live with dignity.
We work with vulnerable and marginalized communities through rights-based and participatory approaches, focusing on education, health, livelihood, gender equity, disability rights, and youth empowerment.
Registered under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989, MNEDA has a strong governance structure and a committed team, we collaborate with Central and State Government ministries, national partners like Childline India Foundation, Azim Premji Foundation, and Tata Trusts, and international donors such as Light for the World, IGSSS, ActionAid, Liliane Fonds, Women’s Asia Fund, Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Terre des Hommes, and Omega Resilience Awards (ORA).
Our work spans over 669 villages in Senapati District, integrating community-driven development, intersectoral partnerships, and long-term sustainability. MANEDA is also recognized for its grassroots engagement and deep trust within local communities, striving every day to create an inclusive and equitable society.
The International Day of the Girl Child is observed annually on October 11th worldwide. It serves as a global platform to advocate for the full spectrum of girls' rights. The children at the Home observed this day by conducting a skit competition under the 2023 UNICEF theme: "Invest in Girls' Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-Being." Through their skits, the children raised awareness about the unique challenges and opportunities that girls face, promoting gender equality and empowering girls to reach their full potential.
On September 21, 2023, the children of Hope Home, MANEDA, organized a choral competition in observance of the International Day of Peace under the theme: "Actions for Peace; Our Ambition for the Global Goals." The children also performed various other activities to make the day more memorable, including folk fusions, cultural dances, drama, and a cultural show. Witnessing the collaborative impact of young individuals united by a common goal was truly inspiring.
The children of Hope Home, along with those from the Tribal Girls Hostel, MANEDA, observed "Swachhata Hi Seva" from September 15 to October 2, 2023, under the theme "Garbage-Free India." The children participated in cleanliness drives in and around the Child Care Institution (CCI) and along the roadsides of their localities. MANEDA staff and neighbors joined hands with the children in these efforts, dedicating one hundred hours to cleanliness, with the confidence that every step taken towards cleanliness contributes to making our country clean.
